When the school bell rang on Thursday, June 7th, students at six of the West Hartford elementary were busy getting ready for their school’s Farmer’s Markets. It was a warm, sunny afternoon and the markets were full of produce, plants and homemade snacks, that were procured with the help of many parent volunteers. Also on hand were the chefs from the Chefs Move to Schools program here in West Hartford. They were busy making Garlic Scape Pesto and handing out samples to all of the customers. With colorful banners, wonderful craft projects and some delicious-looking fruits and vegetables, it was a beautiful afternoon! Enjoy the summer and stay tuned for dates for our Fall Farmer’s Markets!
